Colin Cowherd: Saints and Buccaneers Are No Longer Super Bowl Contenders

Colin Cowherd: “Here are the 2-0 quarterbacks in the league, and notice a trend. Russell Wilson – mobile, Lamar Jackson – mobile, Patrick Mahome – mobile, Aaron Rodgers – mobile, Big Ben extends plays, Josh Allen is mobile, Tannehill was a wide receiver in college, Derek Carr is very ‘Tony Romo’ and can move, Kyler Murray – mobile, Mitch Trubisky – mobile, and the Rams move the pocket for Jared Goff, and Goff throws very well on the run… I can’t buy into the Saints as a Super Bowl team, I didn’t last year either, and it’s why I can’t pull the trigger on Tampa Bay as a Super Bowl team. Not only are Brees and Brady ‘old school’, they’re ‘old guys’. The league is demanding more, the league is changing, and mobility at quarterback is 70% of it. Nothing against Brees and Brady, they’re old school guys who are OLD, but the league 7 and 8 years ago was not this when you HAD to be a pocket guy.” (Full Segment Above)

Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why he doesn’t think Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints, and Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are Super Bowl contenders anymore, as Colin says the league has begun to overwhelmingly tilt in the favor of teams with mobile quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, Russell Wilson, Kyler Murray, Josh Allen, and Aaron Rodgers.

Check out the video above as Colin details why he believes you now HAVE to have a mobile quarterback if you want to win a Super Bowl.
