Colin Cowherd: Tua Tagovailoa's Hip Injury May Have Saved His NFL Career

Colin Cowherd: “Of the Top 10 quarterbacks in the MVP race (Jackson, Wilson, Rodgers, Watson, Cousins, Mahomes, Rodgers, Prescott, Carr, Brady) only ONE was a top 10 pick, and Mahomes wasn’t a top 10 pick until Kansas City moved up to get him. Tua getting hurt is the best thing to ever happen to him as long as his surgery goes well. Tua is going to drop a little in the first round. The best thing to ever happen to Dan Marino was dropping to Don Shula, and then there's Rodgers dropping to stable Green Bay, Dak dropping to the best offensive line in football, and Russell Wilson dropping to Pete Carroll. Tua is a smaller quarterback and we’re worried about this injury thing. Folks, do you want him to go to Cincinnati with that offensive line, that roster and that owner?? Do you want him in Miami?? Do you want him at some of these other clown shows in the NFL? Or do you want him to drop out of the top 10? Maybe to the Chargers at 12 and have a defense, or maybe Carolina at 18th and he can hand the ball off to Christian McCaffrey, or Indianapolis at 22nd with that offensive line and that defense.” (Full Audio at Bottom of Page)

Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why Tua Tagovailoa's catastrophic season-ending hip injury could turn out to be the most important moment of his entire career, as Colin believes the likely Draft-altering injury could significantly drop Tua in the first round.

‘Tank for Tua’ has been a moniker all season from postseason starved franchises like the Dolphins and Bengals, and Colin thinks Tagovailoa’s injury may prevent him from having to be drafted by the sport’s two most incompetent franchises.

Colin points to the fact that out of the current top 10 betting candidates for NFL MVP (Jackson, Wilson, Rodgers, Watson Cousins, Mahomes, Prescott, Carr, Brady) only ONE of those players (Mahomes, no. 10 to KC in 2017) was selected in the Top 10 of the NFL Draft.

Check out the video above as Colin details why the league’s most successful signal callers were all drafted by proficient franchises later in the first round, which allowed them to build Pro Bowl careers while getting to skip out on being anchored down by clown show franchises.
