Warriors Don’t Have a “Competitive Spending Advantage”

The Golden State Warriors have recently been criticized by rivals for having a “competitive spending advantage’ over other teams in the NBA but Doug Gottlieb isn’t buying it. They’ve made strong roster moves and, more importantly, they spend money to keep their homegrown talent. They paid Steph Curry and Klay Thompson oodles of cash to basically recover from injuries! The only ones complaining are those teams who refuse to spend when necessary.

Doug Gottlieb: “The only people that are mad about Golden State and their ‘competitive (spending) advantage’ is other teams that just won’t spend the money, or don’t have the homegrown players...if you want to keep your homegrown players, you have to overpay them.”
